About AvayeBoom Bird Conservation Society

The bird population in developing countries is rapidly declining due to economic challenges, increasing human presence, habitat destruction, and pollution. Protecting birds and their habitats in a sustainable way is essential.

Iran, located on the migratory path of seasonal birds, is crucial for bird conservation. AvayeBoom Bird Conservation Society is the only specialized NGO in central Iran focusing on this mission. Our activities extend throughout the country, aiming to preserve bird populations through lobbying, education, promoting birdwatching, and rescuing endangered birds.

Vision: A Middle Eastern country where bird diversity and populations are sustainable and minimally impacted by human presence.

Mission: To protect birds and their habitats in Iran, ensuring peaceful and sustainable coexistence between humans and birds.

Our Journey

Founded in 2015 by a small group of wildlife conservationists, students, and nature tour guides in Isfahan, AvayeBoom has grown from six members to over 310. Despite political challenges and the absence of international wildlife organizations in Iran, we have made significant strides in bird conservation.

Achievements

• Completed 13 national projects.
• Rescued over 350 injured birds.
• Provided specialized training to 4,000 people in Iran.
• Established the first birdwatching center in central Iran.
• Conducted annual bird population monitoring in over 70 wetlands of Iran.
